I know, I know. . . it's been a LONG time since I've posted anything new. I kind of forgot about this new venture and was recently reminded of it when Christy started hers. So, I figured I'd give this another try. . .

This St. Patty's Day I wanted desperately to go out and party. Jake & I have never been out to celebrate the grand ole Irish holiday together. As a matter of fact, I haven't been out celebrating it since before we got married! This year we were planning on going out but I decided at the last minute that it might not be such a good idea since I hadn't gotten my period... tried a test that morning, but it didn't work! Played it safe that evening & stayed home to eat corned beef & cabbage minus the harp ale. Sunday morning took another test & guess what?

:-) I was very happy I hadn't drunk myself until oblivion the night before! The next day I went for a blood test at the Dr's and we got the "official" good news on Tuesday, in Buffalo of all places, while eating lunch w/ Jake's Dad and sister while his Mom was getting ready for an angiogram at Buffalo General after her heart attack. Let's just say we had our fill of drama that week! Lucky for us things have calmed down quite a bit since them.

"Thumper" as we've nicknamed the baby is doing really well. 2 sonograms have been done so far and the last technition kept saying how perfect & beautiful the baby is :-) Last week I got to hear the heartbeat again at my regular ob appt (not w/ my reg. ob though . . . she just gave birth! Nice timing Dr. O'Dea!!!!) I'm beginning to feel tickling coming from my uterus. At times it drives me crazy & I can't help but scratch my belly. Don't get me wrong, I love knowing that I can finally begin to feel Thumper, I just wish it was a different feeling from tickling! Our estimated due date is the day after Thanksgiving so we're not planning on traveling to either of our parents for the holiday. We figure we'll either be too afraid to travel farther than 10-20 miles away from the hospital, be actually in the hospital, or have a very tiny baby to take care of at home! Either way, this year's turkey day will be quite different and memorable for us all.
